JessicaJessica Ann Simpson Johnson (born July 10, 1980)[1 is an American actress, singer, entrepreneur and philanthropist. Simpson was signed to Columbia Records at the age of seventeen , having been in church choirs as an infant. Her debut studio album, Sweet Kisses (1999) was a huge success, selling two million copies across the United States and saw the commercial success of the single "I Wanna Love You Forever". Simpson took on a more mature image for her second album, Irresistible (2001), and the title track became her second highest-rated entry on the Billboard Hot 100, while the album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). In This Skin (2003) the third studio album by Simpson was a huge success, selling three million copies in the United States. Simpson was well-known for her romantic relationships with Nick Lachey and her marriage to Nick Lachey. Simpson also appeared on MTV's reality show Newlyweds, Nick and Jessica between 2003 and. After the release of her debut Christmas album ReJoyce The Christmas Album (2004), which was certified gold, Simpson made her film debut as Daisy Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard (2005). In the soundtrack to the film, she also sang a cover version of "These Boots Are Made for Walking" In 2006 she debuted her fifth studio album A Public Affair and appeared in the romantic comedy film Employee of the Month. Simpson started her career in country music through the release of Do You Know (2008) which was her sixth studio album. Simpson has also launched The Jessica Simpson Collection, an apparel-focused line that includes 34 categories of products. The brand has generated over $1 billion in sales and is the biggest-selling ever licensed by a celebrity. In 2010, she appeared in the reality TV series The Price of Beauty. She also judged fashion-related designs during Fashion Star's two seasons between 2012 and 2013. Simpson is married to Eric Johnson, with whom she has three children.
