Madekwe is from a multi-cultural family. She was born in South London. She has a father who is Nigerian and Swiss and her mother is English. She went to The Brit School when she was 14. The film's success has led her to be cast in Elisha as a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot. Later, she appeared in the six-episode series Trexx and Flipside playing the character of Ollie. She also had the opportunity to play the role as Bambi on the ITV2 show drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl which aired in three and two series. Madekwe made her official US debut on the Drama series The Beautiful Life, which was only broadcast in the US on The CW before being cancelled. Ashley Davenport was her role in ABC's drama Revenge. In late May 2013, it was revealed that Madekwe, who appeared on the show as a series regular for the past two seasons, was to leave the series after a guest-appearance in the premiere episode of the new season. Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario with an extended family. Her parents Roy and Patty and her four brothers, Brett, Todd, and Bram and Bram, were present.
