Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is from a multi-cultural family. She was born in South London. She has a father who is Nigerian and Swiss and her mother is English. She went to The Brit School when she was 14. In London she attended The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in which her acting diploma was earned. She was on stage in numerous productions during her time at school including the role of King Henry V, as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe's acting journey began in the series Storm Damage. Since then, she's been making guest appearances in films like Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe made her debut motion-picture role in the Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream, opposite Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. The film's success has led her to be cast in Elisha as a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot. Later, she appeared in the six-episode series Trexx and Flipside playing the character of Ollie. She also had the opportunity to play the role as Bambi on the ITV2 show drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl which aired in three and two series. Madekwe was also the main character on How to lose friends & make people feel alienated that was aired by Sony Pictures Entertainment back in the year 2008. The credits she has in her theatre work comprise Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams and Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe made her official US debut on the Drama series The Beautiful Life, which was only broadcast in the US on The CW before being cancelled. Ashley Davenport was her role in ABC's drama Revenge. In late May 2013, it was revealed that Madekwe, who appeared on the show as a series regular for the past two seasons, was to leave the series after a guest-appearance in the premiere episode of the new season. In the television series Salem, she played Tituba between 2014 and 2016. Madekwe wed her actor boyfriend Iddo goldberg in June 2012. Alongside Secret Diary of a Call Girl they also appeared together on Salem and he had a part alongside her in the show on TV.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario with an extended family. Her parents Roy and Patty and her four brothers, Brett, Todd, and Bram and Bram, were present. Ashley's brothers, who were each of them extremely active, took part in hockey in the winter and baseball during the summer, so she basically grew up in arenas and baseball parks. Ashley didn't walk, instead she was a dancer. In the age of two and a half, she was introduced to Baby Ballet. Ashley was addicted to dance from that moment. Ashley competed in tap, jazz and ballet in high divisions. Ashley was awarded the top soloist award at every major dance event, such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more, just to mention the few.
